NEW PRO-CUT 9.2 BRAKE LATHE ELIMINATES CHATTER, CUTS CAPTURED ROTORS, SPEEDS FLAWLESS ROTOR REFINISHING

May 27, 2005

WEST LEBANON, NH, May 27, 2005 –- The completely new Pro-Cut PFM 9.2 auto-compensating on-vehicle brake lathe is the ultimate in precise, chatter-free brake rotor refinishing. Efficiently performing precision brake rotor turning on domestic and import automobiles, SUVs and light and medium trucks without removing the rotors, the 9.2 lathe also produces superior rotors on the new "captured rotor" brake systems on General Motors Colorado and Canyon vehicles.

Featuring Pro-Cut's exclusive Tuned Dampening System (TDS) to eliminate chatter when turning rotors, the 9.2 is powered by a unique 1.0 hp High Amp Flash-Start motor, and designed and constructed for years of heavy, productive use producing superior refinished brake rotors. Pro-Cut's 9.2 provides computer-controlled accuracy to within .001 inch, and normally accomplishes this in one pass, finish cutting up to .020 inch from each side of the rotor. Lateral runout is eliminated with the 9.2, which finishes rotors in 9 minutes or less on any lift configuration.

The Pro-Cut 9.2's many profit-building innovations include:

"The 9.2, with its many advanced features, represents the natural evolution of the Pro-Cut on-car lathe. The 9.2 takes brake rotor re-finishing to a new level of efficiency and precision, and we are happy to make this lathe available to the automotive aftermarket. The General Motors designation of the 9.2 as an "Essential Tool" is a solid testimonial for this new lathe -- now brake specialists everywhere have the opportunity to put it to work for improved, more profitable brake service," said Jeff Hastings, President of Pro-Cut.

The new lathe has been named an "Essential Tool" for all General Motors dealers selling the new Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon trucks. The "captured rotor" mounts the brake rotor to the back of the wheel hub with separate fasteners, instead of to the front of the hub with the wheel studs. Removing the rotor from the vehicle requires removing the entire hub/bearing assembly, and the "captured" rotor is difficult to mount on a conventional off-vehicle lathe. GM has accordingly specified on-vehicle rotor turning for these vehicles.
