Pro-Cut Introduces Non-removable Cutting Head

Single hand adjustment now a reality

Pro-Cut Introduces Non-removable Cutting HeadThe latest model of Pro-Cut on-car lathe- the PFM 9.2- will be getting an update in September 2006 when the company begins to offer the lathe with an optional non-removable cutting head. The feature, which allows a tech to set the cutting head with one hand, will also be available as an upgrade package that will fit any Pro-Cut on-car lathe ever sold.

"Techs have a lot going on when they're doing a brake job," said Bruce Prince, VP Sales, "we knew the market would appreciate a design that would allow them more hands-free operation. The design that Chris (Greenwald) came up with has been very well received in our beta testing. I think the market is going to be very pleased with what we're bringing."

The design adds a lateral slide underneath the standard Pro-Cut cutting head that allows for a wide range of settings. Once set, a twist of a knob firmly sets the cutting head in place. "The locking mechanism is so effective that we're finding improved surface finish with the new design," said lead designer, Chris Greenwald. "We continue to control more and more of the brake job process and it leads to more not only higher quality but increased consistency, as well.

Pro-Cut International markets the Pro-Cut series of on-car brake lathes including the PFM 9.0 and PFM 9.2. The company is located in West Lebanon, NH.
